Creams for Getting Rid of Dry Skin: a Movie Star’s Advice
Let me tell you a quick story. There is a certain movie star from the olden days that I have always idolized. Several years ago, before the glut of fan magazines like People and Us, etc., you had to read about famous people in publications like Look and Life magazines. When a featured story about this lady was published, and included her so called “beauty secrets” I devoured the article and was quick to adopt her advice on creams for getting rid of dry skin.
You may be surprised to know that she didn’t use expensive creams for getting rid of dry skin. And she didn’t recommend any “fancy” (back then) natural topical creams for dry skin. She used petroleum jelly. And she used it after her bath or shower, combined with the water left on her skin from deliberately not toweling off. Her advice had such a folksy, “down home” feel to it, and since her looks were always described as “wholesome” I thought her advice had to be sound.
Looking back on it now its fairly laughable. A beautiful, wealthy movie star with a stable full of make up artists, cosmeticians and lighting experts at her disposal and she chooses to use a product made from the same substance that produces gasoline!
It would seem that this movie star wasn’t the only one who thought that it was ok to use petroleum jelly on your skin. For a very long time, manufacturers of creams for getting rid of dry skin have continued to use mineral oil, aka, liquid paraffin, paraffin wax, and petrolatum in their products. And while they do give you soft skin in the short run, in the long they clog your pores, prevent your skin from “breathing” and make it difficult for your skin to eliminate toxins…which it was designed to naturally do.
As consumers, we’re making an effort to move away from old style thinking and are becoming more educated about what goes into our skin care products. Fortunately, we are beginning to realize that creams for getting rid of dry skin are only going to be effective in a healthy way, if they are made from natural ingredients. It won’t be long before we demand that companies make only natural topical creams for dry skin, and stop making products that are loaded with synthetic chemicals, like parabens, alcohol, dioxane and chemically-produced fragrances.
Some of the best, healthiest creams for getting rid of dry skin that I have found contain ingredients that are 100% natural, like avocado and macadamia oil. These are rich, natural oils that are safely absorbed into your skin and give you soothing, long-lasting relief from dry skin. And you can feel confident applying these natural topical creams for dry skin knowing that they are as safe as if you ate them.
And while we’re at it, soft skin shouldn’t be your only concern when choosing skin care products with natural ingredients. Besides moisturizing your skin, its important to treat and repair the damage that comes from getting older and being exposed to wind and sun.
Natural ingredients like Vitamine E, exotic kelp ( phytessence wakame), keratin (Cynergy TK) and CoQ10 (Nano-Lipobelle H-EQ10) which are found in the best natural topical creams for dry skin will also go to work at at your skin’s cellular level to boost your natural production of collagen and elastins. So not only will your skin be moist and soft, but it will be firm and youthful.
The moral of my story: Don’t believe everything your favorite movie star tells you. These famous people have lots of professionals on hand to make them look young and beautiful. Any beauty advice they hand out, such as the best creams for getting rid of dry skin, has to be examined with an educated eye. And now that you know all this, the best natural topical creams for dry skin will be yours with some smart comparison shopping. You can take it from me…even though I’m not a movie star.

GLOBACOM AWARDS 10 MOVIE STARS 500MILLION NAIRA CONTRACT
As the third largest film industry in the world, Nollywood Stars continue to make waves across national and transnational borders.
Ten of these Movie stars were recently awarded a two-year contract, at a total sum of N500 million by Telecommunications giant, Globacom.
The movie stars, who were selected after a rigorous private screening, are to be paid N50 million each, up front. This also includes being paid for each event the Nollywood stars are invited to attend.
The chosen few that made the Globacom list are Rita Dominic, Monalisa Chinda-Richards, Uche Jombo, Funke Akindele, and Chioma Akpotha.
Others are Mike Ezeruonye, Jim Iyke, Ramsey Noah, Desmond Elliott, and Nonso Diobu . Aren’t they lucky?
These actors and actresses have been making waves in the movie industry in Nigeria in recent times. For instance, Uche Jombo has featured in movies interpreting roles for some time now and is planning to get married to Uche Ikechukwu, a footballer, very soon. Monalisa Chinda Richards the beautiful actress first made her major appearance on TV in the weekly Soap Opera “Heavens Gate” a few years ago. She has since been a regular in Nollywood movies. Rita Dominic was not long ago crowned Best Dressed Actress in Nollywood.
While Funke Akindele became a household name with the TV series I Need To Know. She is presently one of the leading female actresses in Yoruba movies. Funke was also the lead actress in the Yoruba movie, Jenifa, which won her the Future Awards recently.
Sources claim that Ramsey Noah is the second highest paid actor in Nollywood, as he gets N1.5 million per script. As for Desmond Eliot, Jim Iyke, Mike Ezeruonye and Nonso Diobu, you will agree with me that they are all great guys in their field, and they also enjoy a large fan base within and outside the country.
Although sources close to the telecommunications firm did not state the criteria used for selecting the newly appointed ambassadors, however rigorous exercise was done for months before the final list was released. The list speaks for itself, as the chosen actors and actresses are seasoned professionals who have made remarkable mark in their field.

How to find movie stars when visiting L.A
If you’re like most people, you are at least mildly interested when you see a production company at work filming a TV show or movie in the L.A. area. But then there are some people who won’t even admit they are interested.
A certain wife comes to mind who scoffs at the idea of actually looking for stars, yet can tell you the latest gossip on any given movie actress right down to whether they’ve had breast implants.
She doesn’t quite understand the thrill of the kill I felt when, on my first trip to Hawaii, a friend and I struck true pay dirt while in search of Jack Lord – a.k.a. Steve McGarrett – who was singlehandedly boosting island tourism with his long-running television show Hawaii 5-0. Asking around, we found out where Hawaii 5-O’s studios were located and rather brazenly walked up to one of the nondescript office doors, knocked and then nearly fainted when none other than Jack Lord answered the door.
True location stalkers could wait a lifetime for that little bit of serendipity.
Fast forward to the 21st Century and an enterprising young woman from upstate New York has made it a lot easier for you to not only see a star, but potentially to even talk to one. No longer do you have to just wander aimlessly through the streets of Los Angeles hoping to bump into a famous person. Christine Bord has put together a website that gives you details about just when and where the stars will be working on their latest film or television projects.
Visit www.onlocationvacations.com and a dominant part of the home page is a section devoted to giving you the locations where the stars will be filming on that particular day. Take along your smartphone or a laptaop and you can access this website for filming locations even as you’re driving around the city. The site also has detailed information on locations in Vancouver, B.C. and New York City, as well as certain locations across the country where movies are being filmed.
Bord got the idea when she was in graduate school and had to produce a website as part of a class project. She was the type who always looked for famous movie locations while she was on vacation, and the site at first was mostly focused on directing readers to locations where movies and TV shows had been filmed – not necessarily where they were currently in production. But soon the site evolved, with readers sending in email tips about shows that were filming in their cities.
It was a few tips in particular that really made her site take off. She can remember that readers started posting the New York locations where Robert Pattinson was filming Twilight. Soon the site was attracting up to 20,000 people a day looking for current filming locations — a traffic increase that was aided and abetted by the rise of social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. Other websites, like www.gawker.com have sprung up to post even the every-day movements of the stars as they go about their lives.
Focusing just on filming, www.onlocationvacations.com compiles all of those reader tips into a current schedule, constantly updating the calendar with details about where the filming will be, what’s being filmed, and what stars are likely to be working at that location.
It’s not an entirely new idea. We remember back in the 80’s there was an L.A. company that would charge $20 a day to give you a sheet with all of the day’s filming locations based on permits that had been issued by the city. We tried the service out one day, finding our way to a cemetery location where they were filming the TV show Hunter. The system worked pretty well and we were able to see some stars at work.
We heard that company went out of business because of security concerns, but no matter — Christine Bord’s website gives you just about the same information for free. Keep in mind the postings are not from official sources, but most of the tipsters are getting the information from the permit notices that production companies are required to post in public view at any location where there is expected to be any sort of disruption related to film production.
Also keep in mind there is a certain kind of etiquette in stalking film productions. Bord says the most important thing is to be polite and respectful – and patient. There are usually some production assistants around who will fill you in on what specific stars are filming and when. In some cases, it may take hours before they get to the main scenes involving the primary actors.
The reward can be a short chat with a real star. Recently, Gerard Butler thrilled some onlocationvacations.com readers with some pleasantries and photos with the star. “If you can catch them on the right day,” says Christine, “a lot of times people do get good reactions from the stars.”
Catching the right star helps. For example, word on the street is actor Denis Leary of Rescue Me is not especially “fan-friendly.” And certain production companies are much more likely to allow fan interaction. The L.A. locations for Heroes are said to be generally rewarding, as well as the locations for Gossip Girl in New York.
Other sections of onlocationvacations.com call attention to famous filming locations that you can visit and will immediately recognize from the films. But this site is not alone in this particular arena – there are several websites that do the same thing, and more extensively.
For example, a site called www.seeing-stars.com has a long list of filming locations, categorizing them by the decade. You can find everything from locations for the latest Terminator movie to where they filmed Ozzie and Harriett back in the 1950’s. Did you know, for example, that CSI Miami is really filmed in Los Angeles and that the unique headquarters building is actually an FAA facility in industrial Hawthorne?
This website also has complete details on where you’ll find the stars shopping and dining and even where you can visit their graves. A number of Hollywood landmarks are also noted, and the site gives details on obtaining tickets for TV shows that have live audiences.
Another site called www.imnotastalker.com is a slickly produced site run by an actress who admits she gets goose bumps visiting filming locations, past and present. The website features lots of photos and places where movies have been filmed.
Whatever your source of information, the point is there is a lot more information out there nowadays to make your L. A. star search more productive than ever. So come on, admit it. You really do want to see a star.
AT A GLANCE
WHERE: Los Angeles is a key filming location for many movies and television series, although Vancouver, B.C. and New York City also have busy production calendars. The locations in L.A. can range from downtown to neighborhoods to parks to LAX. One much-used location is the Santa Monica Pier and, of course, you’ll recognize the beaches in Malibu or Venice from scenes in many movies. Many movies have included the more unique buildings in downtown L.A.
WHAT: Visiting filming locations can be a fascinating way to spend a few hours as you learn how the shows are shot and how painstaking every scene can be. Often stars will have time in between takes to interact with the public – assuming they want to.
WHEN: In the winter, filming slows down significantly so the best time to visit would be end of summer and early fall. December and January are the worst times of the year, and then you’ll find that most television shows go on hiatus late spring through early summer.
WHY: It’s a chance to see a star up-close, and to see how movies and television shows are made.
HOW: For more information on filming locations in L.A., New York City, Vancouver, B.C. or movie productions in other parts of the country, go to www.onlocationvacations.com.

Lyrics That Give Movie Stars Top Billing
Musical idols have their own idols, too. They’re fans at heart, who were, at one time, in the audience of bands whose tunes and lyrics inspired them to get into the music business. But they’ve had other influences, too, including actors who they pay tribute to in their lyrics. Here are a few songs and lyrics by musicians who were inspired by an actor’s life or movies–or who they think are just plain hot!
“Candle in the Wind” – Elton John
Although this classic’s poignant, bittersweet lyrics about movie icon Marilyn Monroe were penned by Bernie Taupin, Elton John deeply sympathized with the emotional anguish behind Monroe’s public persona. The lyrics refer to Monroe by her real name, Norma Jean, and speak with dignity to the human being, not the sex symbol: “Goodbye Norma Jean/From the young man in the 22nd row/Who sees you as something more than sexual/More than just our Marilyn Monroe.” Monroe tragically died at age 36.
“James Dean” – The Eagles
In his mere 26 years, charismatic movie star James Dean became a legend whose legacy is eternal. A daredevil who enjoyed taking risks, Dean also packed a lot of living into those 26 years. The lyrics to this appropriately fast-paced song express admiration for Dean, and remorse over his death. A huge race fan, Dean was killed on the way to a race in Salinas, California when his Porsche 550 Spyder was hit head-on at the intersections of Highways 46 and 41. Part of the lyrics deal specifically with the horrific crash: “Along came a Spyder/And picked up a rider/And took him down the road to eternity/…You were too fast to live/Too young to die/Bye-bye.”
“Bette Davis Eyes” – Kim Carnes
Originally recorded by Jackie DeShannon in 1974 and made famous by Kim Carnes in 1981, this song’s lyrics salute silver screen star, Bette Davis, known for playing strong-willed, independent women, and for her huge, seductive eyes. Some of those lyrics include, “She’s ferocious and she knows just/What it takes to make a pro blush/All the boys think she’s a spy/She’s got Bette Davis eyes.” The acclaimed actress was so flattered by the song and its lyrics that she wrote a letter personally thanking Carnes and the songwriters for making her “a part of modern history.”
“The Johnny Depp Song” – Amy Anne
As if the name “Johnny Depp” wasn’t spine-tingling on its own, it’s enough to induce permanent euphoria when set to music. A vocalist for the band, Xenophilia, Amy Anne co-wrote the music and lyrics to “The Johnny Depp Song,” which appeared on her solo album, “Supergirl.” Sung in smoky, sultry cabaret style, the lyrics to this ode to Depp’s physical attributes abound with humor that your average stalker could relate to: “Johnny Depp you’re cruel/You’re the harbinger of drool/Come mow my lawn without a shirt, Johnny Dirt.”
Whether it’s love, lust, respect, sympathy or awe, musicians have paid tribute to countless movie stars in their song lyrics. And, coming from a musician, being immortalized in one of their songs is their highest compliment.

Are Movie Stars Soon Going To Be An Endangered Species?
Computer graphics is evolving into something that could very well replace human actors in the near future. The CG world has a huge group of people focused on achieveing photorealistic outcomes with their technology. Anyone who has gone to the movies lately has seen the tremendous level of detail that can be created within a computer. Alias corporation has a quiz online that you can try out and see if you can tell the difference between a CG object and a real photo of an object. I took the quiz and scored 60%. I must admit, I had to guess on several of the items. Nothing was really clear or stood out and said “Hey, I’m fake.”
Obviously, it is far easier to create an inanimate object that achieves a realistic visual image in CG, than an organic, living object. This is because organic objects move, change color, and have almost an infinite diversity of textures. Creating a human face that is challenging, but not impossible. A very good job is done by Luiz Amaral and his team for TV Globo in Brazil. They created a human character that is very photorealistic. The character is female and does the job of a news anchor on television. They actually ran the spot called Eva Byte for some time. Although this is experimental, the implications of this are astounding.
Imagine a new film in 2010 starring John Wayne. Sounds crazy? Many people in the CG industry have talked about doing this. It is more likely, you will see Charlie Chaplin in CG first, but there will definitely be the ability to create this illusion for most audiences in the very near future. Many in the industry would even say it could be done now, given enough budget. This is really bad news for the members of the screen actors guild. Actors and actresses are not all million dollar earners. The vast majority, make very low wages and work very hard. However, it could feasibly be cost effective to implement technology and do away with many of these personnel. This would be even more imperitive and desperate with actors and actresses being paid tens of millions of dollars for a few months work. This just has the tendancy to eat up the producers profits very rapidly.
Would an actor or actresses screen popularity make them immune to this situation? Or, would they succumb to their own popularity? How many more box office blunders will be made that lose money when an actor or actors are walking away with millions? Why not just build a Steve McQueen CG character and make the film around him? I don’t think anyone will be surprised to learn that, many of us would love to see a new film with John Wayne, Steve McQueen, or even a younger version of an existing actor. When is it cost-effective to bring in CG and tell the actor goodbye? When that “cost-effective day” comes, you can say goodbye to most of the actors and actresses. If the movie going public accepts this, and CG substitution ends up being a bargain to the producers, then movie stars will become as endangered as the eight track.
This has already happened, to a large percentage of the stunt people and the VFX coordinators. Now, many of those effects are carried out on a computer screen. This makes it more cost-effective to actually “do” the effects, and it makes the movies much more realistic and exciting. I think the movie actors better practice their voice over work. It may be all they have left soon.

Revealed! Secret Weight Loss Weapon Used By Movie Stars That Won’t Kill You
Movie stars. Loved by many, hated by some and the envy of all those around them, but how do they do it?
Perfect bodies, fit and trim.
Effortless rapid weight loss.
They fit in the smallest of clothes.
It’s enough to make your sick. So what is their secret?
Lots of cash to hire a personal trainer?
A personal chef to cook their food?
Yes, that can definitely help, but it is really a double edged sword. Tons of cash can also mean, who cares if you flake on your personal trainer. You can afford to pay and not go or just find a new one. A personal chef is great, but who says you won’t ask them to make you something rich and delicious? After getting your own personal chef, who would only want carrots and celery?
Have you guessed their secret weapon? Did you know that most of the movie stars don’t even know about it? They have it, they feel its effects, but they haven’t harnessed its power. In fact, it is why many turn to illegal drugs. Some of the drugs are just for getting a high to escape and others are specifically for losing weight. Both work, both are illegal and both kill you. Not a good option.
So, what is their secret weapon that is leading them to their fantastic bodies? It’s accountability to their fans. They have millions and millions of people always scrutinizing them. Every extra pound or inch gets noticed and their career is on the line. The public is fickle. They can be on top of the world one day and totally invisible and out of work the next.
Accountability is why so many celebrity diets work for the celebrity. It’s not the diet, it’s the millions of fans watching their every move. If they are successful, they are loved by millions, if they fail, they are ridiculed on every tabloid. With motivation like that, who couldn’t have a fit and trim body.
You too can harness the secret weight loss weapon of celebrities, without all the baggage that goes along with being a celebrity. Being in the public eye also creates an enormous amount of stress, which directly interferes with weight loss, not to mention, leads many down the path of destruction.
By being accountable, you can get the same motivation movie stars use to lose the weight and get that dream body. By building a team of friends around you, who are supporting you on your weight loss goal, you are no longer alone. When you win, your friends win and they get to join in the fun by cheering you along. Not to mention, you will be inspiring them to realize their dream body as well. Stop trying to lose weight alone and get an accountability team around you to insure your success.
Fracka Future is the founder of a unique tool called Accountability Buddy. With minimal effort by friends, this tool turns them into a super power accountability team, which guarantees you follow through on your most important goals. Cosmetics: Makeup Tips From Models and Movie Stars – Learning From Makeup Artists About Applying Cosmetics
Women put a great deal of importance on cosmetics, mascara and lipstick to make themselves attractive. They feel good about themselves when they are all dolled-up with cosmetics. Just hearing someone say, “you look nice today”, can make their day. Yes, cosmetics, mascara and lipstick have become basic necessities for well dressed women. In fact, most women do not feel that they are good looking without makeup. They feel they will be adversely judged if they do not look pretty. Is there some truth to this? Does society put such emphasis on appearance?
Even though looks shouldn’t matter, the question arises–do good looking people get treated with favoritism? Do they tend to have greater advantages in life? For example, would a stranger be more inclined to come to the aid of a woman who is very attractive? Might she receive better service at the auto shop? Simply because she is good looking?
An experiment was conducted in New York city. Two women were given folders filled with papers. They were told to drop them on a busy sidewalk and observe what would happen. Would anyone help them? When the attractive woman dropped her folder, suddenly people immediately came to help. Then she observed the other “average looking” woman drop her folder. She was saddened when nobody came to her friend’s assistance.
Why this differential treatment? Is this strictly a cultural phenomenon? Do we learn this from observing and imitating others? Well, studies show that babies will look more intently and longer at prettier faces. If infants could not possibly be influenced to be biased at this tender age, then we must somehow be hard-wired, rather than conditioned, to respond more favorably to more attractive people.
<b>What can we do about it?</b>
If it truly is an intrinsic quality of humans to show a more favorable disposition to more attractive people, then there is very little we can do about it. All the rebellion in the world won’t change human nature. If someone pays us a compliment by telling us how nice we look, would we chastise them? Would we question why they show partiality? No, rather, we would be grateful for this compliment and view it as a human kindness.
<b>How to accept this ugly truth?</b>
It will be easier for us to accept this human tendency if we admit that we ourselves at times are partial to this kind of admiration. Depending on if it is to our advantage or not. Favorable when it is to our advantage; not-favorable when we are at the short end of the stick. We must be realistic and remember that a person’s physical attractiveness, just like their personality, impacts every individual literally from birth to death. As unfair as at that may be, it’s reality. We can never change that. The best thing that we can do is change our attitude, learn from others and use it to our advantage.
<b>How to use it to our advantage?</b>
Movie stars are usually renowned for their good looks. To them, their appearance is a top priority. This is because their livelihood depends on it. In fact, some are noted to say, “It is better to look good, than to feel good!” Although, we may view this as an inordinate emphasis on vanity, in reality, it may not be. Think about it! Would they have achieved stardom in show-business due to their excellent health? Of course not! Image is everything in their world. They just know how to project their image to the best of their advantage. We must learn to do the same.
<b>What can we learn from movie stars?</b>
If movie stars put their best foot forwards, wouldn’t we gain limited success by applying their thinking? Consider this–just because a movie star is naturally good looking, doesn’t cause her to not wear makeup. No, she will actually put emphasis on it. Consulting makeup artists to achieve her best natural look. Accentuating the positive, and making negative features less noticeable. Their livelihood and reputation depends on their taking every advantage to look their very best, on camera and off.
<b>How to capitalize on your looks?</b>
Movie stars are privileged to employ the efforts of various makeup artists to achieve their best look. This gives a fresh perspective on what may look better. However, most women who are not in show business, have only done their own makeup application. As a habit, they may be using unfavorable colors and application methods. If you feel like you need a new perspective, why not consult a makeup artist? Their fresh approach and greater experience, might be just what you need to accentuate your best facial features. It is common for women to consult their hair-dressers for a new look–why not do the same with a makeup artist?
<b>How natural cosmetics can help?</b>
Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to just accentuate positive facial features and not have to cover up imperfections. Well, the truth is many skin problems are actually a result of makeup! Most makeup products contain chemicals that irritate the skin and cause blemishes, discoloration, redness and dryness. Instead of covering up facial flaws with synthetic blends of makeup, why not try to correct these flaws by the use of natural cosmetics? You will be surprised how much better your skin will look and feel. Also you will not need to wear as much foundation and makeup! This will save you time, money, and you will be able to concentrate on accentuating positives!
Yes, looks do matter! We do live in a society that puts a great deal of emphasis on appearance. Without cosmetics, society views women as not fully dressed. We can’t change that. But we can take advantage of this. By wearing cosmetics in a way that accentuates our appearance, cosmetics can actually open doors that may otherwise be closed.
